Time and time again
Especially at my lowest
I find myself yearning for you
For a miracle, for an aversion
I remember the last time
We had such an amazing time
You did me so much good
So it was easy to love up on you
Eventually, my excitement wore off
And I began to focus on other things
Now It seemed like you left
When it was me who did leave
Problems of a living sacrifice
Always crawling off the alter
But you have been here all along
Patiently waiting on my return
This is our life most of the time; only coming to God when we need something. And when we receive it, we enjoy it, talk about it as much. But soon after, it becomes old, we forget it, and get going with life as usual.
Sometimes we are too quick to leave the place of our breakthrough. Rather than pack up and leave, stay. Linger on a little longer.
Yes, God knows why you came, and He doesn’t mind when you did. But much more than what He can give, He wants you to have His heart.
God desires to have and keep a loving relationship.
‘The one thing I ask of the Lord — the thing I seek most— is to live in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, delighting in the Lord ’s perfections and meditating in his Temple.’– David, the man after God’s Heart –
Psalms 27:4 TPT
Enjoy his company
Feed from Him
Grow in Him
And when tougher days come
You will be stronger and more resilient to stand
Because I really want you to
